This is the age of FPS titles; we have so many coming out it is ridiculous. However, one that stands out among the rest (even Call of Duty) is the newest Battlefield title: Battlefield 1.
The gameplay/plot for this title is very unique; there is a story mode, however it is based on a variety of different classes that you can choose from before the start of the mission. Each mission you partake you can choose how you want to exercise that mission; be it stealth or full out gun-ho mode. There really is no set main mission, however there are several one player missions that make out the main mission (they are still pretty cool and interactive).
The graphics are sexy; lets get this out of the way now. These are perhaps the best graphics I have seen in a video game. I couldn’t tell between the cutscenes (which are always sexy looking) and the actual gameplay. It was mind boggling!
For multiplayer, we have some issues here. There aren’t a lot of maps; it sucks, even if you are playing the operations mode; you can still familiarize yourself with the maps because there are very little to choose from. However this game is not for Call o
f Duty players; we say this because Battlefield titles have always been more realistic than Call of Duty. You can run and gun in Call of Duty, but in Battlefield, with one well placed round you will die. This goes for Battlefield 1; we were on a multiplayer map and one our our teammates shot down an airplane. The airplane went down and went through the wall that I was in! There is nothing in this game you can hide behind; everything is destructible which is actually the best part for multiplayer.
If you Call of Duty players want a real challenge then go ahead and get Battlefield 1; this is a game that will challenge even the best of players. The graphics are superb and the story is surreal.
Battlefield 1 is available now for purchase.
