  • by

New York City, 1964. Beatlemania gripped the city, and a determined teenager stood amidst the screaming throngs. Skipping school for a chance encounter with her idols, she declares her love for the Fab Four, particularly one Paul McCartney. Her message, a sweet declaration preserved in a film clip, seemed destined to be a forgotten relic of a bygone era.

Fast forward to the present day. Social media reignites a long-lost moment. Paul McCartney, in Brooklyn for a new exhibition, stumbles upon the decades-old clip and delivers a surprise message. “Hey, Adrienne,” he begins, inviting the once-teenage fan to his show.

But there’s a twist – the internet explodes trying to find this “Adrienne from Brooklyn.” Little did they know, the answer was closer than anyone imagined.

Sir Paul Responds to Long-Lost Fan

Decades after a teenage girl named Adrienne declared her love for Paul McCartney on camera, the legendary musician finally responded.

In a video posted on May 3rd, Sir Paul acknowledged seeing Adrienne’s message, filmed during the Beatles’ first U.S. visit in 1964. “Hey, Adrienne, it’s Paul. I’m in Brooklyn now. I finally got here,” promoting his Beatles photo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

McCartney’s response sent the internet into a frenzy. Fans flooded the comments section, speculating about Adrienne’s whereabouts and hoping she’d see the video. The clip itself wasn’t entirely unknown –  it had circulated among Beatles fans for years and even appeared in Ron Howard’s 2016 documentary.

A Bittersweet Discovery

After combing through photos, videos, and public records, Rolling Stone may have unmasked the real “Adrienne from Brooklyn”. However, the news comes with a bittersweet twist. While fans hoped for a heartwarming reunion, the investigation revealed that Adrienne tragically passed away in 1992.

Despite this, the discovery brought a new layer of joy to her family. Nicole D’Onofrio, a mother of four from Staten Island, stumbled upon the clip while scrolling through TikTok with her daughter.  Recognizing the young woman as her mother, she contacted her siblings.

“It looked like her and sounded like her, with that heavy Brooklyn accent,” John, a retired NYPD officer, recounted. The revelation brought a wave of emotions – the shock of rediscovering their mother in a viral clip, mixed with the joy of witnessing her youthful passion.

A Devoted Mom and Lifelong Fan

Nicole describes her mother as a loving and dedicated homemaker. She embraced the role, actively participating in the PTA and ensuring dinner was always on the table. “She did everything for us,” Nicole remembers, “She was the mom who helped with every science project. If she had one last dollar, it would be yours.”

In 1992, just before their 25th wedding anniversary, Adrienne received a devastating diagnosis of stage 4 lymphoma. John describes her succumbing to despair, refusing treatment. A voicemail left for him simply said, “Johnny, I’m dying.”

Despite the sadness, Adrienne’s family found solace in rediscovering her teenage ardor for The Beatles. After her passing, they unearthed her Beatles collection – the only music she’d play around the house (though she also enjoyed The Rolling Stones and Herman’s Hermits). One record held a special inscription – “Adrienne and Paul” with a heart drawn around it.
