Heart Goes Back To Touring After Ann Wilson’s Cancer Treatment

  • by

Heart made a powerful return to the stage on Friday night, launching their 2025 tour with a thrilling performance at the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas. This concert marked a special moment for the band, as it was their first major show since their 2024 tour was abruptly cut short due to Ann Wilson’s cancer treatment.

With a 13-song set spanning their decades-long career, Heart delivered a mix of classic hits and fan-favorite deep cuts. The energy was electric as they opened with Bebe Le Strange, the title track from their 1980 album. They later performed ‘70s rock anthems “Crazy on You” and “Magic Man” and closed out the night with the hard-hitting “Barracuda.”

Heart’s ‘80s resurgence was also highlighted with emotional performances of “These Dreams,” “Alone,” and “What About Love.” Fans were also treated to a few surprises, including a moving cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Going to California,” Nancy Wilson’s touching instrumental tribute to Eddie Van Halen, “4 Edward,” and an encore performance of “Sand,” a song from the Wilson sisters’ ‘90s side project, Lovemongers.

Ann Wilson’s Journey Back to the Stage

Seeing Ann and Nancy Wilson back on stage was a heartwarming moment for fans. In 2024, just a month into their tour, Heart had to cancel the remaining dates when Ann Wilson underwent surgery for what was later revealed to be cancer.

“I underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous,” Wilson shared at the time. Though the surgery was successful, doctors advised her to undergo preventative chemotherapy.

Months later, she opened up about the difficult road to recovery:

“Chemo is no joke. It takes a lot out of a person. And then there’s that two weeks of waiting around for test results, a form of mental torture. For anyone who’s been through that, I empathize big-time.”

Despite the physical and emotional toll, Wilson remained determined to return to the stage. In a recent interview, she described feeling “empowered” by her journey and expressed deep gratitude to fans for their unwavering support. She said:

“Whether it’s around a health issue or not, they’ve always been there for me and for us.
“And there’ve been ups and downs over all these 50 years. These people just seem to ride the waves along with us.”

Adding to the excitement, legendary bands Squeeze and Cheap Trick will join them on select dates, making this tour an unforgettable celebration of rock and resilience.
